I am a PhD candidate within the Centre for Urban Research. My research project considers the outcome for regional economies of the increasing number of people choosing to live in metropolitan hinterlands and commute to metropolitan areas for work. As employment and wealth creation becomes increasingly concentrated in the centre of major cites, the increase in metro-bound commuters may result in additional employment opportunities in regional areas.
