I am Vahid Aryai, a second year PhD candidate at RMIT University. The main part of my research is the representation of corroded metal surfaces using mathematical concepts such as random fields. A corroded surface can be considered as a set of spatially correlated random points which mainly follow specific distribution types. So far I have applied the random field discretization methods (K-L expansion method, ELOE method, etc.) to model such geometries. These methods are able to model the corroded surface at a specific time, however, the question is how is it possible to represent the evolutions of a corroded surface over time?
