RMIT is home to a unique and world-leading range of research expertise in “space” and “spatial” sciences.

“Spatial” is all about location and place; and “Space” based technologies such as positioning, navigation and timing, Earth observations, and satellite communications supply streams of data that power  . services across a range of industries from agriculture, construction, energy, resources, transport,  advanced digital analytics to location-based services. In recent years, the Australian Space and Spatial industries are undergoing rapid change and growth. Space and spatial underpins a huge range of research at RMIT from Science & Engineering to Social Studies, Architecture to Business, and the Environment to Artificial Intelligence.

SASCCAR aims to strengthen RMIT space and spatial research through increasing of internal and external collaborations.
